I graduated in 2009 from Flagler College with a BA in Communications specializing in Broadcast Journalism and Media Production. I started working at Channel 4 News in Jacksonville as an Associate Producer. After about a year, I decided that the news industry was not for me and I was hired to write press releases and create videos for Flagler College. I was there on a contract basis, and eventually the work ran out, or so I thought. Their web department asked if I knew how to use a camera because if I did, I could stick around for some more projects. I lied thru my teeth and I said yes. They handed me a Canon Rebel T2i and I learned that bad boy like there was no tomorrow. I turned "just a couple of projects" into a four year career at Flagler College.
Three years ago I left Flagler College and founded Danielle Brooks Photography. It has been one crazy journey. Families are my passion, but I also specialize in photographing children, seniors, and fine art. I love showing clients the back of my camera and watching their reactions. To see someone recognize their own beauty is such a rewarding feeling.
I have been a professional photographer for 7 years, and am a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America. I am currently in the process of achieving my Certification in Photography.
My husband, Rich and I are serial home openers. We constantly have people over and love being involved in our community. We want others to leave our home more refreshed than when they came in. We are actively involved in Coquina Community Church. My business is my ministry. I love meeting new people and sharing with them all Christ has done in my life.
Here are some other cool facts about me I bet you didn't know!
- Rich and I are parents to TWO crazy kitties named Ava and Luna. (Yes, that is a Harry Potter reference)
- I keep bees! I have 3 hives and counting!
- I have an obsession with all things California. Especially Los Angeles.
- I grew up in Miami, Florida, but did a short 5 year stint in Maryland.
- My favorite holiday is Halloween.
