Pittsburgh Zoo | Pittsburgh Photographer
Last month Rich and I had the opportunity to go to Pittsburgh to be with family for a week. One of the days we were there we went to the Pittsburgh Zoo. It was a great day for the animals. It wasn't too hot or too cold. The animals were out and about and I was able to get some great shots.
Most of these images were captured with my 70-200mm 2.8 L lens.
They had bee hives at the zoo!!! The bees were everywhere when you walked in! It was magical. In case you're wondering bees don't sting for no reason. Most times when you see a bee out and about it is in search of pollen and won't bother you. They aren't generally aggressive by nature. If you rush their hive on the other hand, that could spell disaster. Rich and I are on the path to getting our own hive soon!
By far my favorite photo. This one was taken through glass. One tip is to wipe your side of the glass clean and then press your lens right up to the glass so its flush. This reduces glare and allows for a better photo.
In the orangutang exhibit there was a one armed monkey. He was really cute. Rich took this photo.
